YTH22V46 Husqvarna
Pricey Junk
Model Year: 0

I bought this brand new. I'm experienced with machinery and don't abuse things, I am careful and maintain my equipment. This Husqvarna mower is the sorriest piece of junk I think I have ever had the misfortune to own. I have had old British sports cars that were put together better and were more reliable! The idea here was to buy new so I wouldn't have problems - oh boy, what a mistake that was! I mow about three acres of pretty flat grass, nothing exceptional or difficult. In 120 hours, I've had both front tires go bad from dry rot (replaced by Husqvarna), welds broke on the mower deck (rewelded under warranty), and two spindles broken (also covered under warranty, but only after a fight). Also, a belt idler pulley bolt was never tightened and it came off, destroying the drive belt (we are now out of warranty), the muffler disintegrated from vibration, the carburetor needed to be rebuilt (surging and sunk float) and one of the baffles on the mower deck has failed twice (so far) from vibration fatigue. The quick-drain oil drain was evidently never tightened at the factory and was hanging on by two threads - fortunately, I caught this at the first oil change, if it had come the rest of the way out, it would have sprayed hot oil all over my left foot and blown the engine. The mower deck refuses to stay leveled. I had to add shims to the front wheel axles to take out excessive slop (I don't expect it to steer like a Porsche, but this thing steers like a drunken rowboat). The steering spindles were never greased at the factory (discovered that one, too), the accessory shade top falls over (removed it, waste of time and money), the original battery lasted just long enough for the warranty to expire, the cowling covers the filler cap of the gas tank so it is impossible to fill without spilling gasoline, the hood snubbers fell off (cheap glue), and I'd go on but I'm out of space here.

Pros: None
Cons: You name it, this thing is garbage
