White GT-205 Model 836 Garden Tractor
Model Year: 1984
I bought the garden tractor version of this lawn mower 30 years ago so I could use ground engaging equipment. This basically meant I was buying a very solid frame around which to hang replacement parts. Bought a new Briggs engine last year, put 2 sets of new spindles in, replaced all of the tires, hoses, belts, and pulleys as needed, but the frame, the magnetic clutch and the hydro-static transmission just keep going. At some point, the transmission has to go and the clutch has to go, but meanwhile the $2,000 I spent 30 years ago is still running strong. Of course a lot of the secret is low hours, I mow once a week for 3-5 hours and 5 minutes here or 10 minutes there hauling brush and equipment.
Pros: Strong frame.
Cons: Wide turn radius.
