755 John Deere
755 is excellent
Model Year: 1987

I swear by it, never at it. Original owner, over 23 years of faithful service. Never babied, never garaged.

Pros: Reliability.
Cons: More power would be nice sometimes.

I can not say enough good things about my 755 as a home owner. I would like - like all good men - to have more power, but the cost of the additional power vs. the fact that the 755 will do the job forces me to keep the 755 and take a smaller bite. My family has built 2 homes using this machine and work it on over 30 acres of wood lot, lawn, and driveways - pulling, mowing, tilling and snow blowing. My lawn is over 3 acres. I just love it.

Pros: Fuel stingy, dependability, & it's a good size.
Cons: Power. Like I said, you'll always want more.

I think my John Deere 755 is very handy around the house. I just restored mine because it was sitting for 10 years in a farm field that's what the guy told me that i bought it from. I restored it from the bare frame. I replaced every part on it besides the motor because the motor is in very good shape. John Deere told me that it was the best compression tested motor that they had in years for a 755 compact. They told me that it has around 100 to 200 hours on the engine. I just got it done about a month ago and it looks like it came from the showroom floor. And it also got nice shiny new paint too on every part and the loader was rebuilt to. I also just got about 100 tons or more dirt delivered to my house and I used the 755 with the 54 in bucket and moved it from the front of the house to the back and made a really nice road too. I love this tractor so much. I put about 200 hours since the rebuild. I just have to put the brand new tires on the front. I still have the old tires on the front that came with it. But the back are new and I also have another set of turf tires too and I have a wheel weight on each wheel and a 745 pound weight on the three point hitch so I have about 800 pounds on the rear end for weight. I can't wait until the snow comes. Were i live is were you always get like 1 to 4 foot of snow per snow storms that I have here and I can't wait unit then. My dad also has a plow truck too and the plow was just rebuilt on that too so we are ready too goo.And my tractor was made by Yanmar so you know how good they are. I love this tractor and it is also a 3 cylinder 21 horse power engine and 4x4 too. I would take this tractor over the new ones that they make today. This is made to last and the new ones are made not to last. I just rebuilt this one so it will last me a long time.

Pros: Very good machine with lots of power and can get just about everywhere you want it too.
Cons: I wish it was just a little bit wider, but it is just fine the way it is.

John Deere 755 with loader,backhoe,6' PTH Mower,PHD
Model Year: 1996

Great little 20hp tractor that does the job. Model 70 loader (5' bucket), No.7 Backhoe, 6ft Landpride finish mower and PHD 15 post hole digger, Kubota 3pth 60" snowblower,6' rear blade and weight box.Has enough power to run all of these attachments.4WD comes in handy especially with the turf tires that are on it. Chains might help when using the snowblower up the mild grade driveway I have and I will probably look to purchase before next winter. This summer engine temp light was coming on when mowing. I took radiator out and had it flushed, then used muriatic acid to get out deposits.Radiator is now fine and temp light stays out. Do wish it and a temperature gauge rather than an idiot light and I may add a gauge in future. Love the Hydrostatic transmission.

Pros: Quick detach loader, 4WD and hydrostatic Trans, high quality
Cons: Sometimes feels tipsy when using chain on bucket to pull or lift heavy object
