Some bees can live with varroa. Some can't. If they can't, I don't really want to help them spread their genetics. Only the fit survive here. The rest are culled. Purdue University actually does a lot of research and breeding of varroa resistant bees. Neat stuff

Yeah, I don't do anything except catch swarms and collect honey in October. I am not normal.

Yes, actually very pleased with it. The buckwheat is a little sparse in areas, but it is all volunteer. The phacelia came in well! The seeds are so small you cannot see them, so my passes overlapped a bit too much. I broadcast 30lb per acre, when it should have been 18lb, because of this...
