Friend has a ZD326 and put some junky fuel in it. Been having trouble all summer, runs for 15 minutes or so on left tank and it starts dying out. He can switch to the right tank and runs similar amount of time and it starts dying out again. He has to keep switching tanks to finish mowing. I went down Friday and we pumped the fuel out of the left tank and got a lot of black stuff out. We removed the left tank and poured out more dirty black stuff. We rinsed the tank and changed both filters and refilled the left tank. He mowed for 2 hrs and never missed a beat. We also drained the right tank and was going to remove and clean that one too. Here's the problem, can't figure out how to get the deck height knob off, pulled and pryed on it, wouldn't budge. We decided to just use the left tank till I get some answers here. I know somebody knows how to get that dial off without breaking it, so help us out , we've ran out of creative words.

Don't know for sure on the Z326, I don't have mine anymore but......over the years I've had a couple that I've tried to get the knob off the height adjustment and they just pulled off but was really hard to do. I think on one I just gave up and worked around whatever I was doing by leaving knob off> I think the shft/whatever had frozen up and the knob wouldn't turn is why I was trying to get it off. This was on BXs. May be able to find answer here if no one with actual experience/knowledge doesn't respond............. http://www.kubota.com/part/partsList.aspx

Wondering the same thing myself so I asked my dealer. He told me it is pressed on/pull off. He told me it is unlikely you will be able to remove it with out breaking it apart first. He ordered me a replacement dial and I am going to wait until the part comes in before I attempt to remove the dial.

I'll post back once I get it off.

Thanks for the come backs, I know it's too late now, since it's 70 miles from me but I just thought of using a heat gun to warm it up and see if it will move. If I don't get an answer from someone that KNOWS how it comes off, I'll try the heat next time I'm down there.

I had a ZD326 at one time, and I tried to get that off too.....I gave up. Worked around that issue.

We have it running sweet, just have to use the left tank only. He has problems in this heat so he said he'd use it as is till the weather cools down, then we'll tackle the other side. His wife mows with it and at least she's happy that it's running right again.
