Local dealer is having end of year close on sale on Z-Force 60. 60" deck and 23HP Kawasaki, $3500. Mower is new and comes with warranty. This seems like a good deal to me.

He tells me the Z-Force 60 is entry level commercial machines, but has higher gauge deck and frame than residential models. He also told me it has a stronger/bigger hydro pump than residential models.

Anyone have one of these? Any pro or cons you can share. Any thoughts on the price?

Thanks.

That's a great deal. I paid that for my Z-Force 50 in 2005. They are well built machines that once you use them to mow with you'll never what to go back to regular rider. Just never cut going downhill unless you have a safe run out area because once they're headed down hill there's no stopping or backing up.

Thank you for your input. I have been pushing for the last few years anything will be better. :)

That is a great deal. I see more and more commercial outfits using Z-Forces now.

Buy the Ferris if it's in good shape. The only cub to consider is a cub built by Yanmar. Don't touch a cub built by MTD. I regret my MTD/cub purchase and will never buy another cub again.

I have never seen a commercial entity use a z-force. I usually see Scags, ExMarks, Deere and occasionally Dixie Choppers.

I beg to differ. I have a CC M-60 ZTR and have been very happy with it. Even though it has a CC badge on it, it is actually made by Lesco.

If it'd built by Lesco it's probably a very good machine. If it's an MTD/cub run away...

No doubt snap it up if it's a Lesco made machine, but the original post is about a $3500 ZTR. A new Lesco would be twice that. Comparing a true commercial spec'd machine with a Z-Force is apples to oranges. Again, for residential mowing, a Z-Force will last your typical homeowner a loooooooong time. Commerical guys around me use them for 2, 3, 4.. seasons and throw them away when they break hard.

The Z-Force is still considered a residential machine, however it is a huge step-up from the RZT series you see at Home Depot. The Z-Force is made by Commercial Turf Products ; which also makes the Cub Cadet Commercial units as well as the Lesco brand. The deck is 11 Gauge stamped steel and the transmissions are Hydro-Gear ZT2800s. This is a good setup for a homeowner, but not for commerical use. A Z-Force 60 would orginionally sell for about $5000, so $3500 is a great deal.

What Brad23tech and JTKub said is true. If you can get it for $3500 go for it. I ended up paying $7200 in 2005 for my M-60 "Tank". Trust me, it is a tank!

That is a very good deal. I bought a new 23hp Kw Z force 60" cub cadet in 2006. It was just over 5300.00 . Untill now, i've never had to do any real repair work to it. All these years cutting 3acres i treated it good and it did the same to me. Would i buy another at that price? NO but, for $3500. YES in a heartbeat.
