That says it all. I'd appreciate input from those who have "downgraded" or those who have a BX.
I am sick and tired of my B7510 tearing the snot out of my yard when turning. I am not that exstatic on the mowing results I recieve with the MMM, either. I have been looking for a nice used lawn tractor, like a small John Deere with a 48" deck, to trim and eliminate the swirls my B cuts in the yard and around trees, but a descent used one goes for $1500 to $2500. For not much more, I could trade my B for a new BX2350 with a loader and suspended deck. From what I hear, the BX excels above the B with it's suspended linkage MMM, and I primarily mow, although snow removal is a key thing I use the tractor for. I won't part with a loader - it's far too useful.
I only mow 1-1/2+ acres, so the smaller BX wouldn't hurt me, but I think it may be easier on the grass, be less to store (slightly more compact, and still provide a main mowing machine with the loader capabilities.
The thought of storing another tractor/mower/zero turn and servicing it while a $15000 tractor (my B) sits just for loader use seems idiotic. The DW thinks I may be nuts to spend a fe grand to downgrade to a BX, but she can't see a second piece of machinery sitting here for looks most of the time, and the difference between buying a small dedicated mower and just going to a BX is very close to the same.
What do you all think? Will I really miss my B over the BX just mowing, moving mulch, moving dirt, and stacking snow?
Thanks in advance.
