I'm looking to trade in my JD 3320. I have owned this machine since 2007 when I purchased it new. I have had no issues with the tractor other than operator issues (me) like getting stuck in the snow because I went off the path and down the hill, etc. Overall, extremely satisfied with the machine. The engine is still strong, and machine is in great condition.

I'm now looking to buy a new tractor that I can plow with, and also mow around the house, and on a hill (I know up and down and not sideways). I have not liked using the 3320 because I felt it was too heavy to mow with. So I have a JD 757 zero turn that is like driving a sports car when mowing.

I want a factory cab. I have a Curtis Cab on the 3320, but it is a royal pain in the you know where to take on and off. I tried one summer with the cab on and never again.

I have a long driveway, a 2700 foot runway to plow that I may sell in the near future, so will not need a big machine.

I like the 2025r with the factory cab, and the ability to take the loader on and off easily. Plus the front quick connect for the snow blower and sweeper. I'm tired of looking behind me when I used the snow blower the 3320. Tired of bloody hands because of fighting with putting implements on and off the tractor.

Any thoughts on the 2025r? I have thought of the 2038r, but the lack of a factory cab plus the inability to easily take the loader on and off and no front quick connects does not impress me. Take out the runway and is the 2025r a good machine?

Thanks for your input.

I bought a new 2025r last February and really like it. The auto connect deck is a must have in my opinion. I don’t have a lot of knowledge on the cabs. I thought they were Curtis cabs but I am not sure. I am pretty happy with the way mine mows.

On the 2038r, I am almost positive the loader comes off the same as a 2025r and the implements hook up the same. The 2025 is on a slightly smaller chassis and the loader is not as strong. They also make a 2032r that is the same as the 2038r but has a slightly bigger engine but no turbo hence the lower horsepower. The one disadvantage of the larger 2 series tractors is emission controls. 25 horsepower is the magic number where a DPF system is not required making the 2025 emissions free. Either way I would get the tractor and size you want. Keep in mind a 2025 is a very capable tractor but the loader is not going to be as strong as you are used to.

The 2025 cab is not air conditioned. That, the price, and weak loader struck the JD 2 series off my list when I was shopping.

If you already have a ZT, why get the 2 series to mow with?

Look at a pull type blower for your 3320 if you are happy with it in every other way.

I am so done looking behind me when I use the snow blower. I cannot put the mower deck on by myself. I cannot take off the loader arms by myself. Hence the 2025r with a cab.

I looked at the Kubota 2650 with cab. Almost bought it but then I wondered if the air conditioning could keep up in the summer. I would much rather take off the doors etc and leave the cab on when mower than sit in a closed sweat box.

The factory can put the cab on, but it is still a bolt-on-cab in my opinion. It's not the quiet, integrated cab like the 3R series and larger have. I think Mauser builds the cab.

I said Curtis cab in my post above but you are correct, they are Mauser. They are bolt on but they look pretty good, almost factory.

I sat in a 1025r with cab. Very nice and in my humble thought better build than Kubota. Just my impression. I want the 2025r because it is bigger than 1015r.
