Dad traded an old arc welder for a '64 Pontiac Laurentian, the motor was blowing oil badly and the mains were gone. I was 15, was wet sanding and taping cars at his body shop for $20 a vehicle (good money in 77'). He gave the car to me and told me I'd have to buy all the parts and he'd help me rebuild it, best summer of my life. We tore down the motor, did all the body work and I painted it fire engine red. Replaced the front bench seat with two VW swivel buckets, my friends and I spent many a days in it, it was like sitting in your living room with the front seats swivelled towards the rear.
