Hello to all !
Received about a year and a half ago as a gift the Ludell 11604 splitting wedge as a gift . Its not a diamond type wedge . I have it at my place up north and have yet to use it .
A couple questions if I may ? I would guess those that use wedges on tougher rounds are useing the Estwing 'sure fire ' ? Seems like the most popular because sold at the big box stores for like $22 otd ? What wedges are you's useing ? Are you's useing the diamond shaped ones that rotate more ? Anybody useing ' homemade " wedge ? Aluminum high dollar wedge ?
Anybody useing the new wedges that attach to drills , etc ?
The Hadler comp pushes towards there hard back plastic maul and there splitter saying / advising do not strike ' steel with steel ' steel with aluminum 'ok' .
Is that snake oil to increase there sales ? Of course safety equipment being worn is a no brainer . Also I have heard in Germany its against the law when useing a wedge to strike metal with metal because of injury .
Some questions , thanks for responses in advance !
