Lets get my smart a...s comment out of the way first....

Use a mule. Its been around for a few years. Carries a large weight, has good AI, makes less noise, and does not run on gas.

That was impressive. The recovery on ice and the CMU was awesome. The dang thing looked and acted like a well, mule or a dog.

Looks like the biggest problem to solve is going to be the energy source.

Still, its impressive technology.

Same thing you would do if it was a mule. Shoot it in the head, pick up what is left of your pack it was carrying and get back to work, thanking your lucky stars that it was the Big Dog(or mule) that took the hit instead of Billy Joe Bob from Paducah...

How many 240 lb mules can carry anything? Are you sure the mule would make less noise? I'm sure our donkey would give it a run for it's money.

I also suspect that Big Dogs might be easier to transport in an airplane than a mule. You might be able to drop the Big Dog into a zone on a parachute. You have to push the mules really hard to get them to jump out of the plane.
