YM226 Power Shift $2750.00 ???

This ym 226 has power shift, turf tires and 712 hours. The owner is the second owner. Uses it to mow with 5 ft. mower, 5 ft tiller and disc. I know the price is ok, but what I need to know is about the model YM226 and the history of the power shift. Is this tractor to new of a model to get parts for??
Owner says runs excellent, and has never had to put a wrench on it.
All input would be helpful,,, I guess I need to make up my mind about a tractor. And this one is under $3000.00

The YM226 is a domestic model built for the U.S. market and not a gray market tractor. It is not too new to acquire parts. It utilizes the same engine as the YM220 (3T75HA), is a three cylinder and rated at 22 engine HP.

I don't see how you can go wrong if the tractor runs well and everything functions correctly. A used 5' finish mower and turf tires could set you back half the price this owner is asking. Personally, If I needed a tractor, had the money and found the bargain you have...I wouldn't hesitate to make the purchase after a close inspection and trial run. It sounds like a very good deal to me.

Ask anyone that knows or has a power shift transmission. They are rock solid, trouble free and great for shifting on the fly when used with certain implements....especially a front end loader.

Me too! I was thinking the other day how I take for granted the ability to shift up the gears 1-2-3 on the go. No almost stopping to change gears.

ditto on the powershift on my 1510d. Since purchase this winter I've used a rear blade, drawbar, and now a 48" KK brush mower.

Although I have to say, HST on my late 1980s B7200 Kubota was a little nicer, the powershift is still very very handy !!

How was your test run and inspection? Did you happen to take your camera?

Went and drove it and operated everything I could remember. He had not cleaned it at all, which was good since he hadn't tried to cover up anything. Only one problem; one of the fuel injector hoses was leaking a little,, the ones that go between each injector,,, no problem!!!! No leaking wheel seals, no bad noise anywhere. I did notice "once" that when I took off it was just a little hesitant and then took off strong.
I guess the first thing I need to do is get a manual for it and do some maintence work on it!!!!! Maybe clean out the trans screen???? Seen it on this site!!!! Man's wife will deliver it tomorrow.. ym226 and a ym mower "delivered" $2850.00... I'M EXCITED!!! You all have a good day...

Yea I hope it is "bullet proof"!!!!!! I'm going to do a lot of checking it before I put it to any heavy use... Woman just called and said she was on the road. It is now about 6:30, so she will be here in about an hour and 1/2 .... Of course you guy know I will have to wash it and POLISH it before I post any pictures,,,, I think!!!!

power shift will be a little slow taking off at times. Once the fluid is warm & circulating it seems to work better

Yea when I took it off the trailor just about 30 min ago, it seemed to be a "little" slow in first gear. Once it got going and I shifted it "went". But your statement does make me feel a little better.... thanks....
I guess tomorrow I will have to work on my outboard motor, the parts came in and need to get it going and GO FISHING!!!!!!

Yea Gizmo!!!! That is why i just ordered a set of manuals for this thing.. just in case i have to go in it... I'm wondering!!!!
Also got a YRM 60A MOWER WITH IT. It works fine, good belts and new blades. Cleaning it up now... Yanmar mower.....

Giz, mine is a little slow when I 1 st start it up. not real slow but, enough to notice.I may just need to clean the hyd. screen.. Are u using ATF fluid or hyd. fluid ?

I ordered manuals for this tractor. Am going to wait and get them to read up on changing lube and how to clean the screen, and what fluids to use. Changing oil I pretty much knew..
My tractor ### on the motor is 3T75H
Fram: CAK 530 air filter
NAPA: 1568 oil filter
I hope cleaning the screen and changing the fluids helps my tractor. I doubt if it has ever been done. Looked like the original air filter to me. 750 hours!!!!
It sure did run better with the new air filter.
I am located about 13 miles north of Rocky Mount, NC...
13.6x16 rear turf
25x8.50 front turf may want to change to ag tires, not for sure.... these big tires seem to do good on this hill I live on..... yall have a good day...
