YM2220D P/S, any known problems?

Did a search on this model, but nothing came up. Looking at a YM2220D with power shift. Says 26hp. Does power shift work like a shuttle, or is it just that you don't need to clutch when shifting? Any common problems with this model-especially with a loader? Thanks much.

The power shift is supposed to be bullet proof. I've never had one, but my next one will probably have it.

Hi Don welcome to TBN, I have a 2610 love the PS, I do use the clutch some, when I'm first pulling out or backing up if I'm in third or forth gear, I think its hard on the tractor not to use it then, second gear only if the RPMs or way up, again only when first going or reverse, first gear I never use the clutch after I get going, not even reverse, I don't have a loader, but I can see it will be nice to have PS when I get one. just my thoughts..Robert

It's my understanding the PS is in fact a planetary gearset like one would find in a auto AT but no fluid coupling and no auto/self shifting.

I've been wonding if there is any adjmts for the bands like one finds with auto AT's?

PS requires the hydralics to be functional. Loose your hyd pressure and no-go, i.e. dead in the water so to speak.
