Tractor
Yanmar YM2200
Ive had this Yanmar ym2200 for quite some time and each year Ive had to continue buying parts if I wanted to use it . Well, a few months ago I ran it out of fuel and it never started back up and I think Ive had enough of this tractor. I believe someone would like to have this tractor and the condition its in would make a excellent parts tractor or even a fixer upper. I would like to get some idea on how much these sell for and where the best place to advertise this type of tractor. Any advice would be great. Thank

You can put it on craigs list. I bet you would get around $2500 if it were running maybe less. The problem is that that is an "orphan" tractor according to Hoye. Some parts for it you just cant get compared to the other models. Most on here know it and the only ones who sell it anymore are the VN recon guys and i think they have even layed off of it. Hoye im sure may buy if but wont give you much as they would have to ship it and then sell it part at the time.

If it were not running you may get $1500 or $2000 around here is my guess, if your lucky?

But sice you said what you did in your post im not thinking your market here would be to strong.

My thinking as well. Possibly would be hard to sell except for someone wanting a parts tractor

Did you bleed all the air out of the fuel system? First open the bleeder screw on the inlet side of the fuel filter and close it when no more air comes out. Then the screw on the outlet side of the fuel filter, then the screw down on the injector pump inlet.

That plus a booster battery to make it crank fast should get it going.

What parts has it needed each year?

Thanks for the replies guys..I think I may put on craigslist too, I just didnt know how much to ask for it.

I ran it out of fuel and I did bleed the top screw but I didnt do the bottom one. I need to try that and charge battery real good. I still had enough of this tractor and would like to see it gone.

In 2005 i put a rebuilt head and gasket on, 2007 I placed rebuilt starter on, 2008 new stearing bearings, 2008 rebuilt front wheel hub and bearings and did oil changes yearly.

Why sell it now?? Youv'e rebuilt about alot. You may not need anything else. Just bleed the system real good & keep her. She may rum a long time b-4 any other repairs are needed. It's your's & only you know when you've had enough.. I wish you luck what ever you decide...

I agree with Clemsonfor's estimate of $2500, running. At that price it should go quickly. I might pay that if it were local.

And I agree with Kenmac, you have already repaired most of the things that wear out on a Yanmar. Rodding the radiator out, and a voltage regulator are the only other things I can think of that a reconditioner might do before putting the tractor in service for another 10 years. I'll bet the hard starting is just this purge issue (and an adequate battery), no big deal at all.

I got the air out of the lines but on the ym2200 there is only one screw to bleed. Its a phillips screw located at the top of the injectors where the fuel line runs from the filter and its just cranking. Im leaning towards something in the cylinder head may be wrong. More like a bent push rod or something causing the fuel to not fire up. Either way I'm ready to get rid of it and someone else can play around with it. Yall say $2500 if it was running, but its not and it has a bit of rust and I recommend a complete overhaul. I believe I will go and list it for $1500 on craigslist and if any of yall are in southeast texas that may be interested.

So you dont have any screws on the top of the filter housing, phillips screws? Or one on the line just before the injector pump? Those are the only ones that you have to mess with on most of these yanmars?
