I just purchased a YM220 with the right rear locked up. The person I purchased it from said he thought the brake was locked up. Does anyone have a diagram of the rear axle assembly? I'm open to all suggestions. I will be trying to disassemble the brake assembly as soon as the rain quits. Where is the best place to order parts? THANKS!

Hoye tractor in Texas and Frederics tractor in Alabama are your two main places. I too would assume that the brake is just locked up..hopefully and its not gears jambed on that side. Look at hoyes online scematic part diagrams to help aid in dor dissection of this.

Keep us updated.

There should be a latch between the brake pedals. It's on my YM2000 and I would guess it's on your 220. If you unlatch it you have to step on one pedal for that side or latched just one of the pedals for both brakes to work. It will give you a good idea if the LHS or RHS brakes are locked by how much movement is in the pedal. I doubt both brakes are locked but possible. If there is a lot of play on the RHS Pedal compared to the LHS. and the LHS. wheel spins it would pretty much tell you the RHS is locked. Oh make sure the Parking brake isn't engaged. If the parking brake maybe on and the pedals unlatched that could have the RHS locked. Hope that makes sense. It will if your looking at it I hope...

If the petals are unlatched the left brake would be the one that is in the locked down position.
