ym2000D hydraulic nightmare fixed, sort of.

I got part of the problem fixed but wanted to post a new thread because of the new issue.

I now have full use of the loader, and three pt, but I still blew the shaft seal for the hydraulic pump. why would everything be working and I still blow a shaft seal?

also, I attempted to order a direct replacement for the pump I have and was advised that the parts man did not know of more than just one pump for the tractor anyway. Me being a newbie I said ok and bought the pump. the one I recieved states 5 for rate of flow, and the one I took off states 7 for rate of flow. one pump model number has a 5 in the end, and the other has a 7.

!st issue, is there a need for the proper pump on my tractor? any difference?

and Why,Why, Why have I bown another shaft seal?

I have gotten a long way with this tractor because of hoye tractor, and Im almost there, but no shaft seal, things are still useless.

Yavapai,

After reading your other thread carefully and the interaction with Aaron at Hoye, something 'rings' troublesome with the mention of your tractor's hydraulic Q.D.'s. Nearly always a Yanmar with tapped hydraulics for a FEL and dedicated plumbed lines for a 'fixed' implement that uses quick disconnects needs a short "Jumper Hose" once the implement is removed.

I'm fairly certain your tractor's hydraulic pump is not the problem and only blowing seals when the fluid is diverted incorrectly. Installing a jumper hose between the QD's should tell you instantly if the pump has been dead-heading fluid and rupturing the seal. Once the hose is installed and the tractor restarted...there should be no obvious squeals of protest from the pump. And the FEL controls and 3PH draft control should work independently with only slightly slower operation speeds.

The YM2000 comes with a 5A pump. In fact the 5A replacement pump that you have came straight off of a YM2000

. You can put a 7 or even a 9 on that same tractor but you wanted a used one and that is all we had used. I agree with Mark though that the pumps are not your problem. You mentioned that you had a second valve that looked to be a priority valve of some type and the hose routing that you described was like nothing I have ever seen or heard of. I think we need pictures or drawings of how that is all plumbed in to be of much more help.

Or do like Mark said- completely bypass the loader. Get back to the original plumbing, be sure it works & then start adding & eliminating things until you find something that is wrong. I don't think randomly changing things is the way to go.

I appreciate the replies. thanks for the info on the pumps Aaron. I dont have the time to keep messing with this. I am going outside to haul it off to the hyd guy. Ill keep you advised of what transpires.

problem fixed. Pump I recieved was a reverse flow, it was pointed out by the shop that the pump is obviously different from the original pump on the tractor.tractor works great now.
