ym165d leaking head plate

I'm a long time reader of forum but don't jump in much.I have a ym165d I'm the second owner, had it for 2 years now.I refurbed it with new paint seat all the 30 year old peaces parts replaced ect.Well now I have a small weeping water leak on that small plate on the back side off the head.It's got a gasket and four 8m bolts holding it on.This plate is between the fuel tank heat shield and the head.My question is what is behind it,is this just a simple task off move fuel tank and heat shield pull four bolts make new gasket of gasket matireal and permatex back and retorque bolts and fixed ,our is it more in depth.What is the torgue anyway? My book says 9-12 ft lbs.

Sounds to me like you have it down about right. Here's a picture of a different model but probably just like yours. Not sure about the torque. I would just use the goodintite torque on those.Yanmar Tractor Parts: HEAD
