I went to the bank and got the money out for the YM 2500 I had heard the dealer in Englewood had left. I did not look at it when I bought my YM 1700 from him. When I saw it and found YM3110 on the fenders and YM 2500 on the chassis. Sombody scraped the model plate off the motor. Is it a 2500 motor or a 3110? Maybe a combination of both or more. He had some other ones ther but it was more of the same with mismatching model numbers. My YM1700 all matches except for the tires. Thanks again to all you folks in TBN for the advice. I would never had thought to check the numbers and where to look for them.
It started right up and the three cylinder sounded good. The dealer wanted $3450 for it, but for a questionable Vietnam rebuild, I thought it was too much. This brings a thought to mind.
Has anyone ever thought of going in on a container purchase?I would be interested in getting the tractor right off the boat and to restore it myself. Perhaps this is already happening. Any body out there heard of this? The YM2500's are going for $2000 plus shipping.
