I am looking for a heavier duty lawn mower for my yard and quad trails. I am kinda done with disposable lawn tractors, I don't have a manicured lawn, I just cut what grows and it's green. I found 2 tractors locally that would probably fit the bill. One is a Yanmar 186 with a woods L59 belly mower.power shift, 2wd, ag tires 562 hours, good rubber pretty clean $3600 from a dealer. The other one is an International 235, 60in. belly mower, back blade, snow blade, 3 pt forks, chains, turf tires, 2 wd, hydostat. Also looks to be in very good condition. 870 hours Private seller $4000. It seems like the 235 is a no brainer with all the extras, But in searching TBN, I think parts are expensive and difficult to find. I'm hearing the little Yanmars are darn near bulletproof and parts are easy to come by. What do ya think?
Thanks, Bill

Are the Yanmar parts easy to find?

I once considered a Yanmar 187 but got scared off because several parts were no longer available.

Good Luck.

I have a Yanmar 186D......great little tractor. Never had a problem getting parts. I use Hoye....good folks.....lots of parts.

There's good forum support for the older Yanmars should you need it and, as mentioned, parts are available through Hoye. I think that Powershift transmission would be really nice for mowing. I know nothing about the I-235.
