With all these threads on frozen diesel, snow, chains and snow blowers, you'd think is was Winter or something. I'm worried about finishing up some car projects so I can get my own tractor in the shop for a make over and cab with air conditioning. Early planting is just around the corner and I'm concerned about getting rain. A TOTAL of just over 13" of rain this year has really put the hurt on crops that can't be irrigated.

I moved from the snow belt of Ohio so I know what a time everyone is having but gosh, I'd trade some of this sunshine for 20-30" of snow in a wink. Even the cactus is drying up down here.

Hunker down with the family and have a Merry Christmas and a safe and enjoyable New Year!

And Happy Hanuka for those of you that celebrate it. Shalom!

Hey Ken,

I wanted to move to Texas from PA but the wife wanted to be closer to the son in Tennessee so we ended up in KY. We had a single digit taste of winter yesterday but it got back up to a more manageable 38 or so today. Friends were saying that they were wishing for a white Christmas. Ha! I said no, you are not!

We have over of 20" snow you are welcome to. I do not mind sharing. We are heading your way next month. Hope you have some of that warm TX weather left when we get there.
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Winters in WNY have been funny the last 3-4 years. Last year I snowblowed my driveway about 2x all winter. So in those terms it was a mild winter.

I've done my driveway everyday for a week so far between the snow, lake effect snow, wind, ice and anything else going on.

The plow trucks are keeping busy some. I can't help but think it's helping the economy a bit though. Lord knows we need some kind of help around here.

As I get older, it's easier for me to justify in my mind getting a cab for my next tractor. I don't need it in the summer but the winter is a different story all together.....

Oh yeah!
Cold is a relative thing depending what you're used to.
Out here in So CA we've had a couple of cold Winters in a row. Maybe not compared to back East, but for us it is. We had snow last year at our 1600' elevation and are having it again this year. For us, that's kinda rare. Something that normally happens maybe once in 10 or 15 years?

I had to say something on this one: Where and how can I get a green card to get out of here? I would like to worry about putting the air conditioning in my tractor cab (that I don't have BTW). I usualy don't mind winter that much but this year is just too much for me. Ya ya, "get a blower, its fun" -- but only if I could find one... Does anyone has a spare one lying in the back yard?

Cheers and enjoy the warm weather!

Max

Lefty - I'm outside Lytle (Lye'-tul) about 3 miles. That's about 25 miles SW of San Antonio down IH-35. Beautiful morning/day here too but a little on the windy side. The past week or so has seen nothing but fog. Too wet to paint or sandblast. Fields still too dry to work.

LBrown - Born in Ohio, grew up in Texas. Moved back to Ohio in '76 and put in my time at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a couple of consulting firms. Retired from information systems (data processing) and moved back "home". Turned a life-long hobby into a side business--Restoring antique and classic cars. Found this piece of property and couldn't say no. Between playing in the dirt and folks paying me to have fun with cars, life is good. ;)

Yall, have a good one!

Not here on Barbados, not even at 110 feet below the surface (82 degrees) as we were scuba diving at a shipwreck. I am getting a little worried about our trip home on Sunday to the UP of Michigan.
