Kubota B 2910
I know this subject gets kicked around a lot, but I need to take a turn for some help/advice
Would a B2910 of '02 vintage have pressure and return ports anywhere? It has never had a FEL on it. I'm trying to draw plans for a front snow plow project, and have a Prince 2 spool sectional open center valve that was on my Massey-Ferguson 240. On that tractor, there is a 2 position hyd. selector switch bolted on the lift cover. In one position, the fluid flow went to the Prince valve to run the snowplow but the 3pt. was dead. In the other position, the hitch worked like normal, but the plow was dead. This was kind of akward, but better than nothing. On the Kubota, I'd like both circuits to be live all the time. Anyway, to get started I first need to learn how to energize the prince valve. Would anyone who has done this care to share? Thanks, Mike

If you have a B2910 owners manual there is a section that shows hookup for hydraulic unit. It points out the 3 different ports for a power beyond valve. My B2910 manual has it on page 39.

Like Ron said, page 39 of the Operators manual shows the location of the front hydraulic block that is used for the loader. The manual does note that you must have a valve with power beyond capabilities in order to make the 3pt work. That means the valve must have an inlet, power beyond and return to tank ports. If your Prince valve doesn't have a power beyond sleeve then you can get them from any hydraulic shop that carries Prince products.

After removing the 2 screws holding the cover on the block, you will see 2 ports threaded 3/8 NPT. The port on the right (nearest the front of the tractor) is the high pressure line coming from the tractor pump. This line connects to the valve inlet. The other port is connected to the Prince valve's power beyond port.

The Prince valve's return to tank port is connected to the tractor transmission port located on the right side of the transmission case. This port will be plugged. Remove the plug. It is threaded 3/8 NPT.

Thank you guys, unfortunately, it looks as though this one does not have the power beyond port. All I can find are the in and out on the ends, and the 4 work ports on the side. Sorry Ron, I never thought info like this would be in the owners manual. I don't have it yet as they aren't delivering the tractor until next saturday. I'll have to call this week to make sure a manual comes with it. I'll be the 2nd owner. As for the valve, do you guys think one would fit in my Christmas stocking? I know the tractor wil not fit under the tree!

In the morning I can scan the page if it will help.
If you have very large socks a valve should fit in it. :D

You don't have to go to all the hastle Ron, It'll take me a while to get a better handle on my plans. I'll keep that in mind however, and if the machine doesn't come with a manual, Mad's text will get me started. Thanks again, Mike

if you hook the outlet of your valve up to the remaining port on the tapping block of the tractor it will all work ok. the down side of not runnig a power beyond valve is the 3pl will affect the action of you snow blower. if you can make shure that only 1 function is being used at a time (either you new valve is at work OR the 3pl is lifting) they you probably will never notice a difference. this is all only really doable if your valve has an in built relief valve, if not then ditch the idea of using that valve and get a new one with power beyond. make shure you set the relief valve on your valve when you fit it too.

Thanks for the help Oz, but I guess I'll spend $150 or so and get one with the power beyond feature. Cheap insurance for not damaging an expensive hyd. system. I'm one of those guys that knows just enough about hydraulics to get into trouble, but not enough to get myself back out!

is probably the best option, but do make shure you set the relief valve on the new valve when you fit it. because it is in front of the machines relief valve if it not set correctly it can over pressure the pump, not good at all.
