The front tires on the BX tractors are a source of frustration for many, I do believe. I know that I've had my share of problems. I replaced one of the junky factory tires with a Carlisle, and that's been good. For the other tire, I put a tube in it about a year ago. That was good until today.

I cringe at the thought of taking the tube out, patching it, and putting it back in. It was no trivial task getting the tube in the first time, and I hate this band-aid solution to begin with. So, the solution I'm leaning toward now is replacing this factory junk tire with another decent Carlisle.

Should anyone care to offer alternate suggestions, please feel free.

This flat happened while excavating for a pistol range. Once I get it finished, the first thing I'm shooting is this POS original tire!

foam.

thus is the nature of small tubeless tires.

With due respect, this is baloney. I never had so many issues with flat tires until I bought my Kubotas. I've got an ATV with tubeless tires for 7 years now. I drive it over rough terrain and tow sometimes 1,500 lbs.--never a flat. My lawn tractor will be 8 years old this year--never a flat. Both my Kubotas developed flats in the front tires. I love the tractors, but hate the flats. And oh yeah, one rear tire complete with Rimguard and a tube even developed a leak. The B3030 in the pic was 4 months old when it went flat.

I have never had a problem with tube type tires... some have been park in the barn form more than 10 years and the tires have not gone flat.

One of the best things I did was have the rear Kubota tires foamed filled... I was going to do the front and my Dealer said Kubota doesn't approve because of possible added stress to the axle assembly.

Did slime the fronts and this has helped a lot...

Bite the bullet and foam them. You will be done with it.

Yeah, I think it really has to do with inferior tire quality that the Kubotas shipped with. When I replaced the one tire, I went with Carlisle, because another tractor I had still had its original Carlisles from 1973. I thought that was as good of a reason as any to give Carlisle a chance in 2010. Haven't had any problems with it. Hopefully that continues to be the case.

But, as for the original tires, I started having problems with them after only a year, or so. If something on these tractors had to be of poor quality, I'm glad it was the tires, though. That sure is better than having bulletproof tires and a blown HST or something else that becomes more than just a minor headache to replace. So, all things considered, not really a big deal.

The best price I've found so far for a new Carlisle is $102, shipped. I can live with that.

Is there a hole in the tire?

If not, remove the tube, install a tubeless stem and apply rubber tire cement LIBERALLY (i like Camel brand) around the bead area of the rim and stem.

Re-inflate and you should have no issues. Its not the tires (unless its a puncture), its how they seat on the bead in my experience.

I do believe the original problem was the bead issue, as you suggested. I'm opting to just toss the junk in the trash instead of trying to keep band aiding a flawed design. I've had piece of mind from the other tire, so hopefully I'll get the same from the new one. Yeah, famous last words...

If the tire is sound, and you follow the procedure above, you'll be $100 ahead.

Up to you, but i did mine (only the left side leaked) and it hasnt lost a drop of air in 6 mths.

Certainly very true, and something for me to consider. Thank you.
