Near me several telephone poles were being replaced and I was able to get 4. The guy who asked before me got 6. My son and I used a car trailer I rented from U-Haul to move the poles. Two poles per run. Worked great. But what really impressed me was my YM2310 with the Bulldog 285 FEL. I had to use the FEL to pickup the pole ends so that my son could back the trailer under the raised end. What really impressed me though was the big pole down in a ditch on the side of the road. The ditch is about 5 feet deep and the side is so steep it takes hands and feet to climb down into and up out of. My son went down and chained up one end of the pole. I raised it up as much as safely possible with the FEL and then backed up the 2310 to pull the pole out of the ditch and onto the road. I put my box blade on the back and put a 55 gallon barrel full of water on the box blade for weight. This gave me enough traction. That 2310 has plenty of grunt. The pole is 18 inches diameter at the butt and 12 inches at the top and is 31 feet long! I am so impressed. I love my Yanmar!

Great score on the poles!

You should have nabbed some photos of the Yanmar in action.

Yeah, you're right, I shoulda taken pictures. Since my son and I were blocking traffic on a 50 mile per hour two lane rural road I was really concerned with that. But yeah, I did have my cell phone in my pocket and taking a few pictures would have been easy. I am on the list for 10 more poles. If they turn up I will for sure take some pictures. I am truly amazed by the performance of my tractor. A lot of machine in a fairly small package. 42 years old and it still runs great. And I am really impressed by the strength of my YM2310. It is the first diesel machine of any sort I have ever owned or operated, so I don't have a base line to compare it to. But boy does it perform when I work it hard, like it wants to work hard.

Way too small for what I do but sounds like the Yannie is a good unit.
