After two months, my Woods HC54 finally came. I picked it up, hauled it to the farm, where my dad and brother joined me to unload, assemble, and test the long awaited implement.
After about three hours of mowing, I'm happy to say that the cutter is exactly what I was hoping for and it was worth the wait. My little Ford seems quite happy pulling it through tall, heavy grass and poplar saplings in 3rd gear (12 speed gearbox), even uphill. It will pull it in a taller gear, but it starts laying the grass down more instead of cutting it. I think I chose the right size for my tractor, and look forward to many hours of field mowing in the future.
Thanks to everyone who has posted their expertise and many experiences in the past and present forums which have helped me to choose the right implement for my circumstances.
