We have a few outdoor "sculptures". Some need to be put away for the winter. Here are a few pics before we do.
The first is a goofy littly dog but I like it,
Second is the back yard with a view of the trail.
Third is the flute statue.
Fourth are a mother and ducklings family

Next is the "goony bird". I like this guy. He is made from an old shovel, an old fork and some rebar.
Then there is a blue heron made from a rock.
Third is a chipmunk - I hate the little buggers in real life. But the statue is cute.
Last is a St Francis. He is partway down the trail.

There is a crow on a chunk of salvaged pink granite. The crow is wrought iron and came from a blacksmith in Marshfield VT. We visited his shop and watched him work.

The other pic is from the trail looking back towards the house.

At the mouth of the trail is Toby a little concrete dog.

Thanks for looking,
Phil

(I want to add a lifesize bust of JFK. It is at a local antiques dealer. But my wife says no. I don't know why>)

Good Afternoon Phil,
It looks like you can leave your metal sculptures out for the winter ! Kathleen has all kind of porcelain frogs adorning out porch in Vt that really need to come in for the winter, they dont do well in snow and ice ! ;):)

Prokop,
The Heron should be easy to make. Not for me but for any one with the right tools. It is a round piece of granite with a hole drilled for the head and a SINGLE hole for the legs. The two legs merge into one peice just before they go into the rock.

I don't have the right tools. I bought a cheap hammer drill to make the mount for the crow. I also got a very expensive masonry bit for it. I drilled into the rock base with little effort. The pink piece of granite was another issue - I spent hours and used a sprayer to lubricate with water. I only got 1 and 1/2 inces in. Then the drill broke.

I used a piece of rebar to hold the pink granite to the rock base. But because the grinte hole was shallow I had to fill around the joint where they meet with epoxy cement.

Next is a concrete owl
Last are a pair of cranes.

My wife wanted a sculpture walk. We cleared a path. But every time she buys something she likes it so much she doesn't want it hidden back on the path.
