Yanmar YM1600 purchase

This weekend I知 going to have an opportunity to purchase a YM1600 made somewhere between 1971 and 1973. It cranks right up and runs very smooth and it has just received a new alternator, water pump, and steering box.

it comes with a 4 foot bush hog, pond scoop, and a 6 foot aerator.

I can buy this for $2500.

First time tractor buyer so I知 just looking for some advice, things to look for, opinions, etc.

Welcome to the forum. :welcome: Interesting. Tractor data says the 1600 was manufactured between 1975 -1980. The 1600 did not come with a water pump or 4 wheel drive so yours has been added. Nothing wrong with the price if the tractor is in good shape. That is one of the models that Hoye has a breakdown of parts for.

The pond scoop is depending on your area about $150+ value, I have no ideal on the aerator. The 4’ brush cutter is probably the most valuable of the implements as if in good condition, it will hold value well. I would guess $500+ depending on build quality and age. You could thus be easily looking at implements valued at $1000 or more in that package.
Getting a running tractor in decent condition for that money ($2500) sounds like a very good deal again stressing the good condition of all items. If you do not need/want 1 or more of the implements consider reselling to recoup some of the cost.
