I used to be able to lift the front of the tractor up with the front loader but now it can’t all I did was change the fluid

Is loader still working but just not as strong? Did you clean the suction strainer?

Whether you can lift the tractor with the loader may depend upon the angle of the bucket relative to the ground. You may simply have to adjust the bucket angle of attack and try again.

Only true John Deere Hygard JDM J20C or Yanmar TF500A or Kubota UDT works well in our vintage machines.

The off store brands must state, 'meets' JDM J20C, else you end up with the inferior 'recommended' or 'compatible' not working well.

TSC PREMIUM fluid meets JDM J20C. And so do many others, you really need to read the jugs and not be fooled by the marketing words.

Here is a good example.

The filter screen is either at the back by the PTO shaft or somewhere near the bottom of the hydraulic housing.

The screen is typically re-usable. Clean it in diesel fuel and a soft to medium toothbrush.

If you are in Canada, there are brands meeting the JDM J20C . . .

NEVER use JD303 in any Yanmar machine, vintage or modern!

...humm; just a thought; some simple stuff to check, that you probably already did; did you adjust or turn off the hydraulic control valve? ... under the seat on my YM180D; should always be open full. 1+ clean strainer, and change hydraulic filter; how much dirt, debris came off and out on filter and in fluid, (ie whats left at the bottom of the oil bucket after letting settle and pouring off fluid in used containers to dispose of oil).

How much Hyd fluid did you put in / replace?; there conflicting info on quantity on some tractors I remember it was about 18L on the YM180D; because its a shared system its more than you'd think.

Also pinched / bent hyd hose? Or were the lines moved around on the control lever?
