I have a Yanmar CBL40 I just had hydraulics added to front for my grapple root rake. As I use it to load into the truck over the side, I noticed I get stuck there inside the trucks bed, meaning the grapple folds down and goes past the point of not being able to lift it'self back up while boom is all the way up and grapple folded all the way down. So I had the shop weld some spacers not allow the grapple to fold all the way, now this works while empty, meaning it folds all the way and still will lift back up. Today I had a load in the grapple and was lowering down into the truck and wanted to reposition realizing It will not lift all that back up ? So problem was fixed when empty but lacks the power to unfold back while in the upmost position. Any recommendations ? I will contact my dealer and see what they say, Im thinking theres a lack of hydraulic power when they added the hydraulics to the front of the machine? but I dont know. I did try full throttle but still didnt budge. as long as i drop the load I will be ok, but sounds like it should have the power to lift up fold down and raise up unfold again. Anyone??

Without seeing picks ,knowing how it's installed. It would only be a guess. I would guess it's plumbed incorrectly or the wrong valve was used

Well I was told that the hydraulics were hooked up so that the lever you use to switch back and forth from loader to back hoe, will be simply just staying on loader. when you put it on back hoe you lose power/hydraulics? been to the tractor place 2 times now and this was just discovered today while having a load in the grapple. approximately 1100 lbs. so folding grapple down all the way will not come up with the load. I will be checking in with them about it as well.

+1 on improper instal a possibility. I also wonder if the hydraulic pressure relief valve on the grapple control valve is set too low?

One other thing I just realized by having the load all the way up, then curl the load all the way down, after welded stoppers put in to stop the grapple from falling all the way down, now it will come up empty. But with the load it will not lift back up in full raised height. but it does curl back up after lowering the loader half way down. So now I know it is only at full raised position the curl lacks the power. Maybe that will help someone, cause my tractor place doesnt seem to know. Also I was told to let it break in some about 150 - 200 hours before adjusting any pressures. it only has 40hours on it.

Have them to check hydraulic pressure (with a guage) to the circuit your having problems with.If you purchased from a dealer, they should be able to check the pressure

So are you saying for sure that you think this should be able to lift it back up. you would think they would check the hydraulic pressure dont ya think? I dont know, they say that each machine has a different geometry and will work differently from others. Found that it lifts back up when lowering the loader down half way makes me think hydraulic pressure or fluid loss? we will see? I appreciate all your comments. This forum has helped me a few good times. you guys rock!

Are pictures possible?

With hydraulics pressure is everything! Volume is secondary and only important in speed. Lift capacity/ability is 100% pressure and actual cylinder specs and if I am misquoting the priority's someone smarter than me will surely chime in.

Do I think the loader or grapple came already set properly? Not really but the only way to know is just check it. Its a matter of unplugging a line and installing a gage in series if you have QC fittings its a 1 minute job.

This is just a best guess. I haven't seen or operated your tractor.I know when my loader wouldn't lift my trailer ( I thought that it should) I adjusted the loader pressure until I got it to lift the trailer
