Now THAT has to be a horror movie waiting to happen. "Remote fails, mower eats 17 people before running out of gas." Or "Neighbor's VCR control proves his undoing, ends up on same frequency as lawn mower."

Seems like it belongs in the same category as a remote controlled chain saw or the remote controlled shotgun.

I can just see someone buying a mower like that and waiting 10 minutes in the mall parking lot to get a space 20' closer to the door where they buy a treadmill.

My understanding is that the Japanese don't have lawns, and tend to regard us as kind of nuts to not only grow a crop we don't profit from, but spend money to take care of. That does lead one to wonder what it's true purpose is. I'm thinking first year teachers would find that mighty handy for classroom control. "DON'T get our of your seat or the mower will EAT you!"
