Hello all, I have 2010 John Deere 850D Gator. I bought this Gator with the motor disassembled. The previous owner had foolishly left the internal components out in the rain, so they were allowed to rust (even though there was really nothing wrong with them). I do not want to pursue reconditioning this rusted block / crank / cam / cylinder head, so.........
I am shopping around for a replacement engine and I encountered a Yanmar "3TNV70-XHB" core on ebay for $1000 which seems reasonable. The rusted engine that I am replacing is a "3TNV70-BJUV". My question is: What does the "BJUV" and the "XHB" at the end of the model number mean?
What I'm really wondering is: will this "XHB" block bolt into my Gator?
One of the motor mounts in the Gator is an integral part of the frame and is of cast iron construction, so it cannot be readily altered to accept a block with a different bolt pattern.
So another way of asking my question is: Are the machined, threaded holes on the sides of the engine blocks (the holes for the motor mounts) in identical positions on the above mentioned engines?
Hoping someone with superior knowledge can chime in here. Thanks!
