hi all. I have a exhaust question. the tail pipe on my muffler or the stack . what ever it would be called . i wanted to take it off and cut it square to attach a rain cap. what i found was a exhaust pipe with in a exhaust pipe . outer pipe is 2.0 at top and expanded to 2.0625 at the bottom where clamps to muffler but in side was a second pipe . at one time attached to the muffler it measures 1.3125 why are their two pipes with in each other . is this for back pressure or a type of spark arrestor. so i cut the pipe square and the in side fell apart . went to the local parts store and bought a straight piece of exhaust pipe and clamped it to the muffler and put the rain cap on top .but now worried about the lack of back pressure or does any body think this wont be a problem. or will be? i could find a piece of 1.3125 diameter pipe and migweld it to the inside of the 2.o pipe.kind of long winded . but hope some one can help. thank you .:dance1:
