Yanmar 221 stuck fuel gauge

Hey everyone, has anyone had their fuel gauge stuck on the full position and what was the fix. Look like I have to remove the dashboard to get the sensor pulled off of the top of the tank. Hoping float is just stuck. Any good resources for getting the dash off would be appreciated.

You may be able to remove the wire from the sending unit to see if the gauge on the dash will then indicate empty. If the gauge does not move you may then be able to tap on the instrument itself to see if it will unstick without disassembling anything. Is it stuck on full all the time or only when the key is energized? In other words is it stuck mechanically or is it getting a signal telling it the tank is full?
