1. Where is the filter?

2. Does anyone have a part #?

3. Where can you order one?

If you cannot find an external filter, then I suspect it would be similar to mine. External filters are available from Hoye tractor. The insert one takes a little work to get to. On my YM169D I had to take off the rear wheel on the right side, unbolt the line (after I drained hydraulic fluid) and pulled out the filter. Then you wash it in gasoline or diesel and blow it out with an air compressor to get it all clean. Then put it back in, fill back up with hydraulic fluid and your done. External filters are usually easier, the ones i have seen on domestic Yanmars are by the fuel filter on the right side under the hydraulic pump which is attached to your engine. I have also seen them on the sides of transmissions as well so check behind the rear wheels as there may be a filter there. Hope this all helps! :)

JohnDeere3720 covered it. (Good pictures, by the way!) The YM2000's hydraulic filter is a metal screen behind a triangular plate, on the transmission case.

They are replaceable, but are designed to be cleaned and reused.

They are available here as well as several other places, among them LMTC and Sheaffer's.

Make sure you have a big catch pan or bucket under the tractor. The hydraulic system holds more than 4 gallons of fluid, so will overflow most all catch pans for motor oil changes.

There is a Yanmar-specific area of tractorbynet, too, if you hadn't found it yet.

There is a yanmar forum on TBN under other tractor makes or something. You will get more help there, thats were alll three of us spend time anyway.

I have your tractor and there is a triangular plate on the bottom of the transmission sump. It faces foward on the tractor or the the side on the front side, i cant remember now but think its foward. It has i think 3 bolts on it. You have to drain the fluid and then pull this cover. The filter (more like a fine wire mesh screen) is behind that plate. Pull it out and wash it out in some deisel fuel and then reinstall.
