The vertical portion of the seat on my XR4046 has become "loose." The adjustment mechanisms will not secure this portion of the seat, and it moves back and forth freely. It's a bit of an aggravation for long sessions on the tractor. Anyone else had a similar problem, or better yet, know of a likely solution?

If its still under warranty I'd talk to the dealer. Is is possible the adjustment mechanism was turned too far and came unscrewed? I've been spinning those knobs on my tractor seat to get the best ride. I noticed on the front of the seat had a nifty rolling dial with numbers on it that corresponds to the weight adjustment knob. Must be in kg's because I'm on about 80 or so and I weigh a lot more than that in lbs.

Does the seat still feel like its suspended? When you move it around does it sound like there are loose bolts? Also maybe something is stuck in the forward/reverse adjustment lock. I keep an old rag on the left side of my seat. Maybe something like that is stuck in the mechanism.

Just to be clear I have the 41xx series but they seem pretty similar.

Thanks. It's actually not the portion of the seat I sit on. It's the seat back (the vertical portion of the seat). It is under wty, and the dealer has agreed to look at it. I'm just trying to avoid hauling the tractor or disassembling the seat. Thx for the response.
