Hello all:
New to the TBN.
Just was curious if any others have used a backhoe on the front of their tractor via the quick attach, much like a skid steer does. Picked up an older working Case D130 backhoe ($700) and weighed it (1692 lbs). These type of backhoes were attached to the pins on the front of Case 1845B skid steers which did not have the quick attach system. According to the specs of a Case 1845B the operating load is stated at 1700 lbs.
My idea was to just weld a HD quick attach mount plate on the back hoe instead of rear mounting, use it on the front of my LS XR4046 which has loader capacity of 2500 lbs lift at the pivot pins. I dont plan to do major digging with it, just small stuff and leave the big stuff to the pro's.
Brother in law uses a New Holland skid steer for his concrete business and that too has a quick attach back hoe which weighs a little more (2200 lbs) than the D130 and he said he likes it alot but its not like a professional back hoe as far as speed etc. but it does work and its done alot of work for him.
My tractor is a 2014 LS XR4046 and its still under warranty, since the backhoe does not weigh more than the 2500 lbs limit on the loader it should not be violating the warranty correct? they sell these tractors with the quick attach so that you can use the same implements as a skid steer etc.
Thanks for any input.
