LS XR4140
New to the forum. Just sold my Kioti CK30 shuttle shift. Was in the market for a XR3037H but apparently after getting pricing the dealer realized that they were discontinued. I went to the LS dealer Saturday but all they had in my size tractor was XG3140H and a XR4145H. The rep really tried to get me to buy the XG but I had already convinced myself that the XR was the way to go. After running the 4145 I was very impressed although probably more tractor than I need. I am now thinking about the 3135 or the 4140 Hydrostatic. I would love to hear from anyone that currently owns one of these two and give me opinion. I will be getting a grapple, Box Blade and Backhoe with my purchase.

Welcome.

I guess it depends on what your intended uses are. I would love to have gotten a 4100 series tractor instead of 3100 but just don't have the room for it. I'm happy with my tractor. But I do like the looks of the larger tires on the 4100 series.

Tons of LS info on here with your same basic question.

Write down every use you would have for your tractor. Buy one size bigger if the finances/storage space allow.

As far North as you are consider a cab.

If you haven't found it yet here is some great reading on grapples. Wicked Root Grapple

Dan,

I had the same dilema. I thought the XR4100 series was too big for my 5 acres. I ended up putting the two side by side and the 4100 series wasn't much wider. It does sit higher and the front axle and of course the tires are much beefier. I bought the 4150H and between the weight of my grapple and the trees I pick up, I'm really glad I went with the 4150 over the 3135. I'm also glad I went with more HP because the hydro does take a little more to run around especially with any hills. Just my two-cents but the 4100 is worth every dime....

Thanks for the input. I'm about to pull the trigger and order the 4140H with the grapple, hoe, 6'box. Thinking I could really use a chipper right now with the Irma debris I have. Any suggestions? Neighbor down the street has a Woodmaxx WM8H. He says its the best brand out there. ??

I'm in the market for a chipper too. The reasearch I've done so far is leaning toward the woodmax 8H. Having the ability to reverse the drive seems like it is worth it, just wish it ran off the tractor hydraulics and was a few $$ less.

I was able to use my neighbors for about an hour to try it out. Its on a L3901. It worked very well. I just wonder how it will do over time because it sure does rattle and shake.

I went the 4100 series. I liked the larger tires, more ground clearance, and more lift capacity.

Snowman, do you mind posting what you were quoted for the XG3135H with FEL....
