XR3037 no temp reading and will not regen

My temp gauge stopped working about a week ago.
and now the tractor has kicked into limp mode because it will not regen.
The temp sensor omh'd out in spec, but I swapped it with the air intake temp sensor just to try it. Still nothing, I've checked all harness wires and connectors.
Is it possible the thermostat failed and this little engine just can't get hot without it? I hit all over the engine with an IR thermometer and its not hot anywhere, and you can run it for over an hour and pop the radiator cap and won't spill a drop.

Sure sounds like the thermostat stuck open. I would imagine regen won't work without operating temperatures.

FTN, try removing the neg. battery terminal for a minute. Then, reinstalling it after cleaning what may be poor connectivity.
Mine is almost 10 yrs old now with about 1K hrs on the clock.
It does some of the things you describe from time to time.
I just reboot the system and/or make sure all is well for good grounding to take place.
It's a good thing it only happens every year or two or I'd have it checked out by a shop.

Yeah, sounds like your thermostat is stuck open. The computer wont allow a regen unless its at operating temps. If your never at operating temps, then it wont regen. Replace that thermostat and see what happens.
