XR 4046H Electrical Problem?

Hello everyone,

I have a 4046H with about 50 hours on it. It's had a cake life so far other than having to be outside more than I would like. I have a growing problem that today resulted in the tractor not starting. I turn the key and the glow plugs cycle but it will not start. The starter will not even function. It's flashing code AB04 which equals to Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor. I think this is related to the intermittent issues with the idle control lever not functioning that I've had. Sometimes the engine will not idle above or below about 1800 rpms. Like I said the throttle issue has been minor and hit and miss. For a solution I've tried wiggling the wiring harness and checking for poor connections. I've disconnected the battery and tried getting the computer to reset and nothing. Anyone ever experience like this?

On my 3135 the first day I had a problem that it wouldn't start. Dealer came right out to my house and found a broken wire under the tractor by the foot pedals. It apparently got cut by the movement of the pedals. There is probably a wire harness that runs near your forward / reverse pedals, check that no wires are cut.

Everything there is intact. Is there any way to get one of these started or am I going to have to get it towed?

Unplug the sensor/ connection to the foot pedal and see if that cures it.

Well I spent an hour at the dealer today and made some progress with it. Ended up cleaning up all the grounds and changed a 5 amp fuse that is on the wiring harness under the throttle control lever. That cured the starting issue. Once I had it home I'm getting the error code again and having it only go into the default idle speed and the idle control lever isn't working. Definetly some electrical gremlins with this thing. Have to give huge kudos to my dealer though. They worked with me one the phone for about and hour then stayed late with me in the shop getting it going.
