What size XM27 tires/ wheels will work with an L4610 with loader (I assume I will have to modify the loader frame as previously illustrated on TBN)?

Where does one go about sourcing these critters?

Any idea on a decent price for wheels/ tires?

Thanks,
Evan Johnson in SC

Where is Mark Chalkley when you need him?/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I think he went through this very situation, only with a L4310. Are these tractors the same frame size? A search of the archives will probably provide more information than you care to read./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I am at a loss here, you're not going w/the R-4's? Never heard of this tire and wheel set-up? I must do a Google search at once...here goes.

Ok, I went to Michelin and it appears to be a radial R-4 design tire. Good looking tire but but I bet they are BIG $$.

Evan - Check out this link. For wheels, you can call Tim Long at OTR, 800-215-5549. Hopefully he's still there and will remember which wheels I bought last. I no longer have the L4310 info. The 19.5LR24's will work with the standard rear rims. The 11LR16's are the right match for the ratio, if it's the same as the L4310, but you'll need the right wheels from OTR. There's nothing available in tires that will touch the XM27's, though. They're worth the switch. Ag tire treads with the flotation, durability, and capacity of industrials.

Mark-
Thanks for the link and the good advice.

I'll try Tim at OTR tomorrow and let everyone know how I made out.

Thanks Again,
Evan

Mark,

Didn't someone try the XM27s on a 4610 and have trouble with the tires hitting the loader frame? The 4610 had the heavier loader with a bigger frame and I think the tires hit it. I seem to recall a rather industrious modification (aka cutting tourch) mod to the loader frame to provide clearance.

Ring a bell?

Mark,

I remember how impressed you were with the performance difference the Michelin tires made on the 4310. Do you recall what kind of investment it was for the tires, custom wheels and any modifications you had to make to the tractor for them? Just a ball park figure.
