Spotted my first hydraulic leak today, and while I was under the front axle looking for the source, I noticed my steering cylinder has a lot of slop in the vertical axis on both ends. No significant side-to-side play, but 1-2mm up and down at both the frame and the wheel ends. Is this normal? The leak was from an abrasion on one of the steering cylinder hoses about a foot behind the cylinder, where the hose passes alongside a frame edge. The cylinder slop sure seems like it could have accelerated that wear. - Tim (Wawa, Ontario)
