Does anyone have experience on replacing a JD X575 fuel pump? The removal of the rear fender with attached fuel tank seems to be a challenge. Any experience or tips to be shared would be appreciated. Thanks!

The fuel pump and sender assembly is automotive style. After removing left and right fender bolts, tank support, seat and mount, 4WD lever knob and a few harness connections it came off relatively easily. The pump R&R was also easy. See the photo.

Was wondering why you were replacing your fuel pump? I also own an X575 with only 80 hours on it. The last 3 months, intermittently the fuel pump stops working. Turn the key on, no pump. Dealers say that there not aware of any such problems. Not sure if it is a fuel pump or sending unit? Let it sit for a couple of days or trailer it to the dealer and presto, the pump comes on and it runs like a Deere!
What is the tank support?

My X575 was at about 130 hours when it needed the pump. It would run without fuel transfer up to the filter. My JD dealer also stocks them. It was fairly straight forward, just disconnect everything to the rear cover needed to lift it off. The cover support to the tank just couples them together for more rigidity. Easy, once you see it. A few hours was needed, now just a pleasant memory!

Thanks RetiredCarGuy for your reply!! It was an earlier thread by you that I saw where you had left a picture that gave me the insight to tear into it myself. Just finished it up. The only problem is, is that it was running good today. I still decided to tear into it rather than get stranded out in the middle of the yard when it decides to stop running. The toughest part was figuring out how to remove the tank support on the left side and how to remove the 4WD knob on the right side. After figuring that out it was a piece of cake and a $88 fuel pump later. Hopefully that takes care of the problem. The tractor has always started and ran like a top! Thank you again!!

X575,
That is good news! I also put in the sender as the fuel gauge was wildly erratic. The new submerged pumps should last the both of us a long time.
