X475 replacing fuel line?

The fuel line is rotten on my John Deere X475. Its about a model year 2000-2002 and its just front steer.

How hard is it to replace the entire fuel line? It almost looks like the whole rear fenders and such need to come off, is this true?

I'm sure the fuel line is rotten from some Ethanol over the years. We burn mostly non ethanol, but sometimes its hard to find locally.

Not hard to lift off the fenderdeck and the foot rest. Will be good opportunity to clean out any accumulation of lawn mowing debris.
Start with removing the seat, and the rest will be obvious to you.

Where do you intend to purchase your new fuel line?

A faulty and leaking fuel line is a hazardous condition. I am surprised that your fuel line needs to be replaced on a unit that is only 16 years old.

Ethanol is not the reason that the fuel line has failed. Ethanol has been in the fuel pumps before 2000. The vendor should have made sure that the fuel line would tolerate the common fuel being used.

I would be very choosy as to whom you purchase your new fuel line. I would not purchase it from the same manufacture who made the original.

It is just standard fuel line hose, and can order or buy any number of places. Likely not as bad as Richad thinks it is..

And easy to replace the sections that seem to be bad, or leaking.
