Hi Folks-
I bought an X320 with an Edge 54" deck this spring. I installed the factory mulching kit (not just the plug) including the hi-lift blades. When the grass was dark green and heavy, it did a pretty good job. Defintely pleased with the cut, had some clumping. Now the grass is a good bit drier, and leaves A LOT of clumps on the right side. Even after these clumps have dried out (light, fluffy and brown) the mower will sort of scoop them up from the left and redeposit them, seemingly uncut, on the right.
I've tried remowing, and it just moves them about. I'd rather not have to go over the whole 2 acres with a sweeper.
Anyone have these issues? My yard looks terrible because of this. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Airflow can be pretty important. Did you get all of the old grass out from under the deck? When nice and damp it will cluster under the deck and will disrupt the units ability to mulch. Also you mentioned hi-lift blades, you will want to run the specific mulching blade (they comewith the kit so you may have used). Instead of having a real tall tail the blade will make sort of a S pattern. Cutting too much at one time can also cause problems, a common rule is never to cut more that 1/3 the height of your grass. Once the deck is nice and clean you can try a couple of diferent products to help keep material from sticking. That is a whole nuther thread somewhere I am sure but... Pam cooking oil, wd-40, fuid film, etc, etc.

welcome to the forum Bob,

The blades you use make a big difference, make sure you have the proper mulching blades to match your machine. Agree with cltguy who made some other good points.
Also should mention you need to keep the blades sharp to get good mulching results.

The high lift blades create a lot of turbulence and could easily be blowing the clumps out of place before they are mulched and dispersed.

Thanks guys. I'll try cleaning the deck again to see if that's the issue. I see that I wrote "hi-lift" blades but I meant the mulcing blades that came with the kit. Thanks again!
