It is for sale for 2750 which I think is a pretty good price, what do you think? Also, what should I look for on this model? It's hard to find potential problems on a model you're not familiar with!

thanks

Sounds too high to me. I think the 320 sold new for around $3500-$3700
$2000 to $ 2400 would be what I would expect to pay. How many years old is it?
Also do you know how many times it has been serviced and was it kept inside out of the rain?
If it is at a dealership they probably serviced it and might even offer some warranty, and probably why the price is high.

Any signs of abuse on the deck?

Can't think of any inherent problems with the x320, just check out the normal stuff. If it has been well cared for the price is good imo.

Since the X320 is used, you also want a look under the deck to see the condition. Caked grass or the chute condition can tell how the tractor was kept. Are the blades worn from sharpening and need replacement? Were the spindles greased?

Test the mowing deck thoroughly. Raise and lower the deck from 1 inch, to 2.5 inches to 4 inches. At each height, start the blades and listen for noise. The different heights will put different strains on the belt/PTO system. A bad pulley or out of round sheave may cause belt vibration that should be audible. May want to repeat at mid and fast idle. If you can, test mow to put the blades under load. Sometimes problems only show up under full load.

your price is good,I bought mine new in 06 for $4200,with low hours and in great condition, just minor scratches here and there,it should be worth $2500-$2700 all day long.mine has 190 hours on it and looks great other than the typical seat crack associated with them.I wasn't worried enough to spend $165 on a new seat for it and it will probably do the same thing.

I own one, and would look to verify the forward speed of the unit; this thread http://www.mytractorforum.com/showthread.php?t=146673 and my recent experience with the same set of symptoms, has me a bit concerned. I have about 130 hours on a 2010, have adjusted the pedal linkages, the dealer has as well, and I am still seeing some overall slowness versus when it was new. The dealer actually made the symptom worse, so I readjusted the pedals as described in the other thread, and it was somewhat better. I have performed all maintenance as scheduled and replaced all belts including the propulsion belt.

I seem to be getting high 4.x miles per hour on otherwise level ground, and only occasionally over 5.x miles per hour (using smartphone gps app) but noticably slower than what I recall over the first 100+ hours. It does not appear to have any apparent loss of power or issues cutting, simply slower in forward, with or without mower engaged. It climbs hills here with no issues, just slower. The only other issue was that a clip fell off the parking break, which was fixed as a warranty repair, during which they attempted to readjust the pedal linkage to address the slowness issue. It will be going back to the dealer at the end of the mowing season here in the next couple weeks to address the slowness.

Hope it helps,

Dan

If you have access to a surface speed tachometer that measures FPM like a Shimpo you can measure this.
It's not exactly safe because you have to be careful that it does not rock off the jack.
Crank it, and them jack the rear end off the ground. Then hold the pedal in and measure the wheel surface speed.
Then multiply (FPM) x (60) / (5280) = MPH
This is an unloaded measurement, but will be real close, unless the main drive belt is slipping.
