x 530 grass and leaves blowing out front of deck

I bought a used x530 with power flow grass catcher. When I mow grass and leaves blow out the right front form under or from in front of the deck. I had a lt 155 with bagger and some leave would get blown in front of the deck but the x530 is a lot more. I didn't get manual with the machine and the fellow that had it before me left a lot to be desired as far as maintance is concerned. So that being said is this normal or am I missing something on the deck or just not set up right.

I would believe that the deck needs to be re leveled.

They offer anti blow out / isolator kits for the 54. Also they have high lift blades verses the standard. Not all like the HL w/ the Powerflo. Hopefully this gives you something to help your issue.

Same thing happened to me when I moved up from a 445 with 54" deck to the X485 with the 54c deck.
The profile of the mold for the new style decks (not sure why, but figure it was to give a more "robust" look) as it was deeper than the 54" decks on the 425, 445, and 455 tractors (which have NO blowout at all when used with the PowerFlow).

Was invited through my dealer to have an owners meeting with the Horicon engineers in the early days (2003) of the new models, and brought that issue up. They knew about it, but had a patch (bandaid) anti blowout plate to add under the deck. Did very little to correct the problem.

Now that 54C deck sits in the shed against the wall for the last 12 years. I gave up and bought a used 425 and 455 with 54" decks that still work great.. the 425 is dedicated to the MC519 cart for picking up leaves and grass if let grow too long. The 455 is the lawn mowing tractor for the 6-8 acres being kept as lawn.
The X485 works behind the sprayer, the broom, the front blade primarily. No mowing because it does poorly. And the deck was leveled per every set-up procedure.. tires aired up, left right leveled, front to back correct, anti scalp wheels correct. Tried hi-lift blades, and gator blades. Have a drawer full of blades for that 54C. Went back to the old style deck and get perfect results on both the 425 and 455.

Thank you to everyone. Nice to know it most likly is not my set up. I went over that a few times and it did not help. It seems as though the front of the deck is to high and is letting the grass and leaves get blown or just pushed away from the front right side. I was
thinking about lowering the front of the deck a little more to see if that might help.

I had a Craftsman zero turn that did that. Every time I mowed I got filthy from the knees down. I bolted a piece of plastic lawn edging along the front which helped.

Get the blow-out plates and bolt them on.

My 62c deck would blow clippings out the front left of the deck. I bought the anti-blow out kit and it has been much better.

Was time to clean up some lawn today. Here is how the 425 and 54" deck with the MC519 cart cleans up.

I bought the blow out plates and installed them. While not perfect I would say maybe 80% better. Glad I did buy they were very spendy about 160.00 shipped. Thanks for the help.
