X 485 and power flow update

Hello all, bought A JD X 485 in August with the 14 bushel power flow system. My thoughts on this unit are "wow"!!! I have hand raked this yard for 25yrs. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Several large maple trees and 2 huge english walnuts. I will never touch A rake again, I have been saved /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif This thing sucks everything I run over. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Well worth the $1000 I paid for it.

Welcome and join another happy camper. Here's a nice combination for the X485 too, with the hyd. lift to boot. No lifting to empty the bags.

Dirtboy, Do you get leaves blowing out from the right front of the deck? I have a 425 with the old style 54" deck with the anti-blow out plates and the old style powerflow blower. I get alot of blow out. I noticed that it gets even worse when I put on the gator blades. What I find strange is that I also use a F525 which has a 48" deck and there is almost no blow out.

Hi Chris, I do notice what your talkin about. I think its A combo of things. The muffler is pointed right in that direction and I think it blows the leaves away from the deck /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif what I do is pick up the leaves so that the blower is always on the inside. I do miss some but it sure beats rakin /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I am having trouble with my throttle control. When I push it up to full throttle it creeps back on me. I have to hold it to get full throttle. will have the dealer look at it. Other than that I love it.
