Although slightly different circumstances , FIRE was still involved .
The better half wanted a new lawn mower , self propelled type . Not even sure what brand it is now , since I never use it , ( I have a brush hog for what I mow

) , but after purchase and assembly could not get it to fire after numerous pulls . Pulled plug , looked o.k. , so drop a few drops of gas in chamber . Fired up but died .
Has one of those little rubber buttons by the carb to prime , but you could tell it was not pushing anything . So disassembled carb , fuel line , etc... . They had left a wire wrapped around the float , ( apparently so it would not bounce during shipping

) , which kept float up in the closed position . No problem .
Cut wire , reassembled carb . But when trying to attach fuel line , for the life of me could not get it back on , ( plastic type line ) . " NO PROBLEM " .
Pull out my
LIGHTER and figure I would heat it up so it would fit .

. NO SH$$ ! That is exactly what I did . Next thing I know , our brand new lawn mower is burning , ( there was gas on the housing around the base of the engine ) .
Talk about one of those Vonage commercial moments , We were both running around like chickens with our heads cut-off .

I am going " Oh , Oh , Oh " and no idea what she was rambling about . She goes to grab a hose , ( which I knew not to be a good idea ) , so I started grabbing dirt and flinging on the mower . Got it out without any damage to the mower , other than our new mower was now filthy from all the dirt I threw on it .
One of those moments in life that you are sure glad you don't own a camcorder .
