I built this to clip trees from around apple trees in the orchard , it is designed to cut 4'' and down trees balsam and poplar mostly works really well. I scounged most of the steel and got a great deal on the cylinders.

Pretty dang cool, nice job on the build!! Is it pretty easy to control the tree once it is cut?

Innovative. :thumbsup:Nice job and it sure beats buying a new one, especially the larger machines that loggers use.

Now this is thinking "outside of the box"!! That's one quick attachment I would have never thought of, so my hat's off to you sir. Excellent workmanship too, looks great too. A short video clip of it in action would be a nice thing to post here!

PS- This is actually the worlds smallest feller-buncher:

I have a video but am having trouble getting it to upload ,
The loader has no trouble with trees the size shown in the pic , you , shear them and then lay them down pretty slick , I wouldnt want to try shearing trees that are much bigger gotta use my head so I dont smush my head.

That is one cool rc model, but the idea of the feller on the front of a cut??/simular to the guy whom wants a pole chainsaw on his?

In an orchard that has been left to run riot here in vt for 20 years or so you find yourself with quickly growing balsam and poplars growing up around and trhough the sloth- like apples , even when you cut them with a chain saw you then often have to use the winch to pull the little buggars from the entangled limbs , I frankly dont need a pole saw for my loader , but a 200 apple tree project with at least three trees to cut for each , and only weekends to do it , yeah i like the shear. besides every second Im on the ground tugging on something makes me wonder about that payment for the little orange moose that lives in my barn....

What size/type of machine are you running. I really like your idea!

Great build, a few more pics and an idea of anything you had to work around or would do different would be great.
