Woods Groundbreaker backhoe leak

OK I feel special...The left downrigger cylinder has a leak on the hose connection. I tried to tighten it but the hose kinks up and it still weeps under pressure. What is the smart way to tighten the two nut hose connections to stop the leak and keep the hose straight?

loosen the other end of the hose that has the swivel connection. That'll allow the hose to turn without kinking.
