Woods equip. painted green?

I was out and about earlier and just happened by my dealer. so being kind of nutty i walked around looking at the new stuff. i saw a john deere green woods 60 cutter.
actually i am an orange man but looked kind of good.

Anybody know the story behind this??

Their's a "brand" named Frontier that I think is something JD has somehow arranged with Woods to make implements. The few JD dealers I've gone to all have the Frontier stuff, anyway, and to my eyes, it looks an awful lot like JD green.

This was a woods 60 just like mine except green. it did look a little darker green but it could have been cause of the lighting.

I bought my woods backhoe in 2000 and had my choice of colors maybe they are doing this with more implements.

My JD dealer sells Woods & Frontier side by side. I don't know if Woods has an "official" color but the impliments I have bought are sort of an orange color. Looks good enough for me because the Frontier stuff was more expensive. I like JD but... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have a few Woods implements. The "official" Woods color is kind of a burnt orange. Hard to describe. I also have a Woods snowblower and backhoe and those are Kubota orange. My understanding is that they used to paint loaders, backhoes and snowblowers in the OEM colors. All other implements were the burnt orange.

I thought someone on this board recently stated that all of their implements will be available in the major OEM colors, but I could be mistaken.

The loader on my 23 year old Yanmar was made by Woods, and painted Yanmar puke green from the factory.
Manufacturing of all Yanmar equipment back in the 80s was done by woods for US Yanmars.

As a relatively new dealer for Woods, I was told they are now offering color choices for some of their products to match the major-brands tractor colors.
For those that want their equipment in the barn to be as color co-ordinated as the contents of their clothes closet.

Now the green looked good but color isnt why i bought my woods, which is the normal woods burnt orange.
Do this people that have to have color coordinated buy touch up paint? cause if they use there stuff it's gonna get scratched and dented. and it must look good!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

john miller you never cease to amaze me at how you get photos or spec's on just about anything out there. or ever built for that matter!

Looks kind of red to me. now i have a orange tractor but the green looked better! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
